We are raising funds to create an inclusive arts centre in Worksop

We are working with a group of young people with learning difficulties to convert the former Worksop Train Station building into a music, dance and arts venue for disabled and disadvantaged local young people, their families and the wider community. Very helpfully it has already been partially converted by a former dance school who have now vacated it. We want to recreate it as a facility for the whole community.
Our space is conveniently located at Worksop railway station making it easily accessible from local villages by bus, and from further a field by train. It consists of 2,918 sq ft across 3 floors. Since the closure of the old theatre in Worksop that we previously used in 2014 we have been looking for a property that will allow us to offer dance, music and drama sessions that can meet the needs and demands of our local young people. This new space is ideal and, with the support of the right funder, we will be able to offer a full programme of arts and performance sessions, poviding a truly inclusive and accessible opportunity in an area where this is much needed.
Worksop is the largest town in the district of Bassetlaw in North Nottinghamshire. Bassetlaw is a former coalfields area that borders with South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
